Bluebird

Birds are one of the most beautiful animals on earth. These melodious animals move mostly in groups or as a pair. Bluebirds are among types of birds that move in groups. They are medium in size and mostly feed on insects. Apart from the insects they also feed on berries which they enjoy alot. They are of the thrush family and their origin is said to be America.

These little blue birds symbolize wealth and prosperity in the future. This means that if one has ever appeared to you, you will have a good future. They have 4 broods each year and hence they grow large in numbers slowly. In the wild they will move in groups and hence noticing them is quite easy. You just need to stuff your bird feeder with what they like to eat and they will come in numbers. Gardeners tend to attract these birds to keep in their garden and help them get rid of insect pests as they are voracious insect consumers.

If you have the these songbirds in your yard, just which bird feeder is appropriate for them? The first thing you need to consider is the fact that they are medium in size and are well placed in groups. You can have a large but not too large bird feeder that will fit around 4 bluebirds so that they feel comfortable as a family or a group. You can place the bird feeder in your backyard to warm it up and attract them. The reason why you need to avoid a big bird feeder is that you do not want bigger birds than the bluebird to get attracted to eat it.

The best type of feeders for this species of bird would be hopper feeders, filled with grubs called mealworms. Bluebirds will also eat raisins soaked in water or berries during the winter.  They will also feed on peanuts, sunflower kernels, and suet.

One example of a blue bird feeder is the Sky Café Bluebird Feeder. This mealworm feeder has a dish at the bottom of it where the birds can feed from and hold the birds as they feed comfortably. The cage will help keep large bully birds away.  The blue dome will keep squirrels away as it is one of many types of squirrel proof bird feeders.

Another option is the Songbird Essentials Hanging Bluebird Feeder.  It’s more of a small house structure with an open center and the sides are removable. Its small size is good as it keeps larger birds from coming to feed from it. This feeder can also be used for feeding other medium-sized birds.
